    Abstract

Fly cutting tests have indicated that the cutting ability of abrasive grain is by no means inferior to that of single-point cutting tool as far as the cutting conditions are favorable. As a method to provide the favorable conditions, helical grooves engraved on a grinding wheel are shown to be very effective to lower the energy consumption without increasing surface roughness and wheel wear.
